Spoiler Alert* Dark Knights: Death Metal #3

Batman’s greatest skill, In the Dark Knights: Death Metal #3 Batman, Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, and Harley Quinn find themselves on the planet Apocalypse attempting to save Superman. A pack of Pararobins attacks them. Harley points out that even the evil versions of Batman are excellent at branding. It might be because of the prefix “Bat”, the business Bruce carries or even something much more basic.

Wayne is bestowed with a huge business empire. It is the source of all the Batman weapons, strategies, and more. Wayne has to look after the empire and of course Batman. So yes the prefix “Bat” isn’t much of a coincidence. Wayne does understand the importance of branding. Firstly, it’s to make his enterprise recognized in the world it deals with.

Secondly, the Batman brand, on the other hand, is a symbol of justice that creates fear in his foes. The “Bat-brand” instills fear, giving him an advantage over his adversaries. This is why branding is essential and intentional to Batman and isn’t just a showoff.

His “Bat” Gadgets

Batman’s greatest skill, Batman’s most distinguished gadget is the Batarang. He uses them after his guns. Shaped like bats and named like bats they might be the first or the last thing the villain might face. It was created by Gardener Fox back in 1939. Another invention of 1939 is the Batmobile created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. It is dark with a sleek look and has the Batman symbol on it even after so many changes made to it in these decades. When the enemies find it they know there’s no escape.

The Bat-Signal has been used since 1941 and was created by Jack Schiff. The Bat-Signal is used by Gotham City Police Department when they need Batman’s help. It’s much more public than a simple cell phone info. The signal lights up to create a Bat symbol in the sky. Batman knows that his help is needed but the bad guys know that he is coming.

As noted by Harley Quinn in the Dark Knights: Death Metal#3 Batman’s smartest move was branding. That’s his greatest skill. He instills fear among his foes and they know he is near. Branding his weapons, vehicles and yes the Bat-Signal has helped him in eliminating crime in Gotham City.
