Irreplacable Iron Man aka Tony Stark

Why Marvel Is Not Ready To Replace Iron Man?

The future of MCU hinted that the franchise won’t be looking to replace Iron Man. Find the reason below!

The world’s favourite cinematic superhero- Iron Man was one of a kind. Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man role is counted among the most legendary performances of all time. If we look back at the past when the first Iron Man movie was released in 2018, it was the start of something, the rise of cinematic universe supremacy whose foundations were laid down by a single character- Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man pretty much established the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it today and he became the face of the MCU.

Iron Man never getting replaced

Our Beloved Superhero Iron Man

Unfortunately, as all good things come to an end, so did his run as Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame where Iron Man sacrificed himself to defeat the Mad Titan Thanos. It is really hard to believe that it has been almost 2 years since we lost our favourite superhero who laid down his life to save everyone else. The one question that has been bugging fans all this time is “will Iron Man ever return? as Tony Stark or as his successor. Apparently, the Eternals’ trailer just redemonstrated that Tony Stark as Iron Man was one of a kind and can never ever be replaced.

Irreplaceable Iron Man

Ever since Iron Man died, fans have started to theories about possible ways of his return to the MCU, but that never happening, reviving Tony Stark’s Iron Man would simply spoil the great legacy that he left behind. Even the Eternals have acknowledged that Iron Man is irreplaceable as suggested from the recently released Eternals trailer. During the near end of the trailer, we see the Eternals discussing the future of the Avengers wherein they say “Captain Rogers and Iron Man are gone”.

Irreplicable Iron Man

This actively suggests that the celestial beings have accepted Sam Wilson as the new Captain America and hence they couldn’t refer to Steve Rogers with that same name. However, when it came to the armoured Avengers, they say Iron Man and not Tony Stark, thereby acknowledging that there is only one Iron Man. Of- course, this does not mean that we would never get to see armoured superheroes in action ever again.

We still have Tony’s best buddy, Colonel Rhodes a.k.a. War Machine who would continue to return in future MCU projects, the “Armour Wars” Disney+ series in particular. And we still have Tony Stark’s prodigy, our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, using a high-tech suit of armour, whom Stark vaguely considered his successor as revealed from Spider-Man: Far From Home where we witness Spidey receive the key to the most advanced weapon satellite system with a message saying “For the next Tony Stark, I trust you”.

There have also been rumours about Harley (the kid from Iron Man 3) or Morgan Stark becoming the next armoured heroes in the MCU since it is a strong possibility. There can be a hundred superheroes flying around wearing a high-tech suit of armours but the man who started it all will always stand out. Iron Man was, is and will always be one of a kind who no one in the entire world cannot replace.

Well, it seems like MCU is not over Iron Man’s death. And still has something to talk about our beloved character. What are your views on it? Will Iron Man ever be back in Marvel? Tell us your answers in the comments section below.
