The most recent teaser has also hinted at the same, by paying close attention to the clock and having it tick for over half of the video’s length. This theory of time travel in Stranger Things season 4 is further backed by Dr. Brenner’s appearance, who hasn’t been seen since season 1, the lab, the subjects of the lab, and most importantly Eleven locked in her room at the lab, all of these are events that must have taken place years ago.
