If there were no Avengers in the world then what happened to the members of the original team? Well here’s the answer.
The Avengers are the ray of hope in the Marvel universe. Their heroic deeds are what earned them the title of Earth’s mightiest heroes. They successfully defended the Earth against threats both foreign and domestic and sometimes even saved the Universe against mighty foes like Thanos or the Galactus. Their importance is therefore extremely high in their comical universe, however, what if the team was never formed? Marvel’s Heroes Reborn answers that question by proposing a universe without Earth’s greatest defenders, a universe where the team was never formed and the title of Earth’s mightiest Heroes is taken by the Squadron Supreme. That gives rise to yet another significant question- What happened to the members of the original Avengers team?
The World Of Heroes Reborn
Heroes Reborn #1 by Jason Aaron, Ed McGuinness, Mark Morales, Matthew Wilson, and Cory Petit, showcases a universe with a lot of significant changes with only Blade being the only person to remember the original timeline. Therefore, Blade was burdened with the great responsibility of restoring the original world and it is obvious that he cannot accomplish such an important task without the help of the original Avengers team members. As he sets out on his quest, the first hero from the original timeline that he encounters was Robbie Reyes (the Ghost Rider from the original timeline).
He discovers that Robbie was never cursed with the Spirit of Vengeance as it was forcefully sent into the negative zone. After Robbie, Blade discovers the fate of many original Avengers. In the world of Heroes Reborn, Tony Stark was never in the accident that out shrapnel in his heart which originally motivated him to become the Invincible Iron Man and hence he continued to manufacture deadly weapons for the army. Similarly, Black Panther never became a public hero as Wakanda remained hidden from the rest of the world, Iron Fist never departed from Tibet, Bruce Banner was tossed into the Negative Zone after hulking out for the very first time.
Consequently, his cousin sister, Jennifer Walters, never became the She-Hulk and continued to be an advocate of the law. Carol Danvers, however, remained the same headstrong person as before only to never become a captain in the Air Force after being kicked out for repeated insubordination. Thor, the mighty god of thunder, turned into an alcoholic atheist and was never worthy to lift Mjolnir. Scarlet Witch turned into a villain after absorbing powers from her dead brother and came to be known as the Silver Witch. As for Captain America, “The First Avenger”, Blade discovers a statue that reveals that Cap was never recovered from the ice and is still frozen to date.
This was the fate that our heroes suffered in a world without the Avengers. The blade has likely hit a dead end but he can continue his quest by first rescuing Captain America from the ice and then use his aid to restore the world.
