The very trending teen series of Netflix “Never Have I Ever” came up with its 2nd season and it’s all things fans wanted it to be.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: THE STORYLINE SO FAR…!!

The chaotic and messed up American Indian girl Maitreyi Ramakrishnan was so in trouble due to her feelings for 2 boys and the hard decision to choose between them is finally knocking on her door and there’s nothing really that she can do about it. After struggling to make a decision throughout the season, she finally makes a decision in the finale of Never Have I Ever season 2.

She is very confused between the brainy Ben and the dream boy and every girl’s crush Paxton. Despite being secretly in a relationship, Paxton doesn’t want to acknowledge their relationship in public and then the events take a turn and Paxton asks Devi to be his girlfriend in the school prom. This shocks everyone including Ben, who still has feelings for Devi even though he is dating her friend Aneesa.

Maitreyi, 19, already has a nickname for her and her boyfriend “Daxton”. Choosing Paxton over Ben kind of seems sensible and she explains “It makes sense because she has been after this guy since the dawn of time. She’s also just a teen trying to figure out what she really wants. She’s isn’t going to be the best girlfriend. We have no idea what that’s going to be like for her”. Mindy Kaling who co-created the show with Lang Fischer says that “the season finale reminded me of the ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ and a bunch of 90s high school romantic comedies. It kind of captured that vibe”.

EXPLAINING THE THOUGHT PROCESS

On being asked if they always intended for the love triangle or was it something that was impromptu and made up as the show progressed, Mindy said “In the first season, we had an exclusive episode for Ben and in order to make it fair, we decided to tell more about Paxton’s life as well. That is something due to which you start dimensional zing both characters and start rooting for them”. Maitreyi added, “They are both really good characters on their own that we got to see through Devi’s eyes and appreciate that they are more than the hot and the nerd guy”.

When asked about why Gigi Hadid seemed like the right replacement for Chrissy Teigen, Kaling said “She’s obviously a very famous model and someone who people think of in a certain way because of whom she dates or who her family is or how she walks. Also, she’s a joy to work with and a fan of the show”. Seeing how much the show has grown and what all it brings with itself in season 2, fans are obviously to know more about the thought process that was behind it.

When put up with a question, Ben and Devi obviously have this amazing chemistry, how will the dynamic shift in season 3? Answering this, Maitreyi said, “Ben was really hurt with Devi’s actions in the beginning, but I do think they have a very sweet friendship. There’s a lot to unpack there and we do love the drama, so that’s always on the table”. Adding to this Kaling said “There are a lot of different kinds of chemistry. You have the undeniable chemistry of a handsome man (like Paxton) who enters into your room and stares into your eyes. But then there’s also this chemistry of people who just have a really good time together (like Ben)”.
